Here are some reasons why we do not recommend them on email signatures :
If it is dynamically displayed in messaging apps like Gmail or Mail, only the first image (often teaser or introductive) is displayed on Outlook.
And well, no animation, even though the important message was at the end of your animation ...
The more beautiful and rich your animation and the more likely weight demanding it will be, file weight wise โ meaning, it will likely take forever to load.
Your interlocutor might not even see it ..
To pull this off, limit the colors, the number of elements and the length of the animation.
This is the important match : Efficiency vs Recepient's Perception.
If your animation is blinking, in bright yellow, then obviously : it sure will be visible.
And we would love to be as happy as you are.
But, everything is down to perception so let's put ourselves in our interlocutor's shoes for a second.
When was the last time, as a client, we just received an email (not mailing) and that we genuinely thought " Wow, now that's a cool animation !"
And well, it wasn't blinking-bright-yellow, was it ?
If you have an example, you might as well use it !
Feel free to send it directly to us so that we can add a section for better display.
To limit the weight :
use a limited color span
prioritize plain colors
avoid texture, photos or product multiplication
opt for a short length animation
To be positive your message will land :
display your message and call to action in the first frame of your animation
Bonne chance !
